Notes/Trivia:
  • Casting Call: Drew Barrymore, Edward Burns, Laura Dern, Calista Flockhart and Sarah Jessica Parker.
  • In the original ending, Julianne meets a potential future love interest (played by John Corbett) at the wedding reception. This ending did not test well with preview audiences, who wanted to see more of Rupert Everett's George, resulting in the revised ending seen in the final film.
  • A sequel about George getting married, titled My Best Friend's Gay Wedding, was rumored but never produced.
  • A Chinese remake will be released in China on Valentine's Day 2016.
