Synopsis:
In 1944, budding poet Allen Ginsberg falls under the spell of Columbia classmate Lucien Carr, who introduces him to the nascent Beat movement and fellow libertines Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.

  • Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs' novel And the Hippos Were Boiled in Their Tanks was also inspired by the same events depicted in Kill Your Darlings. Written in 1945, it was not published until 2008.
  • Feature film debut of director John Krokidas.
  • Casting Call: Chris Evans, Jesse Eisenberg and Ben Whishaw.
  • In Kill Your Darlings David Cross plays Allen Ginsberg's father Louis. In the 2007 film I'm Not There, Cross played Allen Ginsberg himself.
