  • Although considered a silent film, Sunrise actually features a soundtrack of music and sound effects.
  • At the first Academy Awards, Sunrise was the first and only film to win the Best Picture award in the category of "Unique and Artistic Production".
  • Remade in Germany in 1939 as Die Reise nach Tilsit (The Trip to Tilsit).
  • In 1989, Sunrise was inducted into the National Film Registry, one of the first 25 films to be so honored.
