Notes/Trivia:
  • To prepare for this film, director Otto Preminger experimented with LSD.
  • Faye Dunaway, under contract to Otto Preminger at the time, refused to appear in the film after her unexpected success in Bonnie and Clyde and was promptly sued by Preminger. The matter was settled out of court.
  • An uncredited Rob Reiner was brought in by Otto Preminger to "write scenes for the hippies".
  • Cast members Frank Gorshin, Burgess Meredith, Cesar Romero and even Otto Preminger had all guest starred as villains on the campy 1960s TV series Batman.
  • Singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson (best known for "Everybody's Talkin'" from Midnight Cowboy) wrote the film's songs and also makes a cameo appearance. Other cameos include Richard Kiel, Slim Pickens and the Green Bay Packers.
  • The final film of Groucho Marx.
  • Although they don't appear in the film, Sammy Davis, Jr. and psychedelic drug guru Timothy Leary appear in the film's trailer (see above).
  • Skidoo was a notorious bomb, failing both with critics and at the box office. Nevertheless, in the years since its release it has seen a rise in appreciation by film critics.
