Notes/Trivia:
  • The autobiographical novel The Confusions of Young Törless (Die Verwirrungen des Zöglings Törleß), first published in 1906, was the literary debut of the Austrian novelist and essayist Robert Musil. The book's overt gay content was mostly eliminated in its adaptation to film.
  • Feature film debut of director Volker Schlöndorff. 
  • Young Törless was released on DVD as part of The Criterion Collection in 2005.
