  • A 99-cent double-feature of Xanadu and Can't Stop the Music inspired John Wilson to create the Golden Raspberry Awards (a.k.a. the Razzies), honoring the worst annual achievements in film.
  • A stage musical adaptation of Xanadu opened on Broadway in 2007 starring Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson and Tony Roberts, with a book by Douglas Carter Beane. It was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
